UGHHH!!!! Yes, that Corn Syrup commercial has been irritating me for months. the funniest thing is that the people in the commercial say “it’s fine in moderation”.

Uhhhh….Hellooooo people!!!! Corn Syrup is in practically EVERYTHING that Americans eat. It’s in stuff that people don’t even realize it’s in from baby formula to vitamins.

Think about how many people eat in one day:

Breakfast:If you eat a piece of toast with jam on it, it might include corn syrup. Plus your vitamin could include corn syrup.

Lunch: A coke and a hamburger with ketchup on it both the coke and the ketchup have corn syrup and probably the “Whole Wheat” bun has corn syrup in it too.

By the time you get to dinner and dessert you have already had corn syrup at every meal. That CANNOT be considered “moderate” consumption!

Read your labels!!! you can moderate something you don’t know exists!

And to top that all of now they are saying that there is mercury in Corn Syrup!!!

    Check it out: http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/lifestyle/health/chi-mercury-corn-syrupjan27,0,2801323.story

Sorry but this all makes me mad! Good work Chow Baby, keep posting the news!

go christina! i just read those findings about mercury in corn syrup this week too. and these are data from a 2005 study? 2005!! thanks for finally letting us in on the secret.

mercury was found in 45% of foods tested. and the corn syrup folks are saying that today’s newer technology for creating corn syrup doesn’t result in mercury in the foods. even though some people are using the old technology still.

don’t know about you, but it makes me nervous to see the words food and technology in the same sentence. i’d rather not take chances.
